Collaborative Learning & Innovation (CLI) Group: Since 2002, DKE has
been the in-house conference and workshop manager for this progressive business initiative at Simon Fraser University. DKE handles registration for

business, government and non-profit leaders. This highly interactive conference, held at the Wosk Centre for Dialogue in downtown Vancouver, featured leading-edge practitioners of collaborative
management strategies.Corporate Accountability Workshops: The Accountability Project (TAP) is a new initiative to encourage and improve sustainability and corporate social
responsibility (CSR) reporting in Canada. TAP is an initiative of Solstice Consulting, in association with AccountAbility and InterPraxis Consulting. DKE assisted TAP with the organization of four workshops, held in Vancouver and Toronto, in 2003 and 2004.

www.theaccountabilityproject.ca Community Economic Development: For Vancouver City Savings Credit Union (VanCity), DKE assisted
with the planning and execution of the Credit Union Forum, held in June 2003. At this national meeting, credit union staff discussed alternative ways of making their resources available to assist with
community development. The meeting was held at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Vancouver's Yaletown neighbourhood.
VanCity Community Leader Consultation: DKE handled the invitation strategy and venue setup for the 2004 VanCity social audit review meeting, which included a select sample of 28 community leaders. The
assignment included identification of appropriate attendees from 12 designated attendee categories, follow-up with invitations and confirmations, and logistics details associated with conducting the meeting.
International Trade and Development: For over a decade DKE has worked on a variety of workshops, conferences, trade missions
and technical tours for clients such as the Canadian International Development Agency, the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters, and the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. In 1993, 1999 and 2002, DKE
coordinated all or parts of three successful "International Development Days" conferences in Vancouver and Banff, Alberta. We have developed a tour of high tech industries in Vancouver for an incoming
mission from China and coordinated a 3-day conference in Calgary for over 100 visiting business people from nine African nations. In Vancouver, DKE has coordinated two conferences for Working
Groups of Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). DKE has assisted with three international events for Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME) and the Canadian International
Development Agency (CIDA). In the fall of 2002, DKE recruited sponsors and exhibitors and managed the exhibits setup and registration desk for the International Development Days conference, held in
Vancouver. DKE coordinated the 250-attendee Africa Direct trade and business conference held in Calgary in 2000. This included marketing the conference in Canada, liaising with speakers and delegates
in Canada, the U.S. and nine African nations, and coordinating technical tours of local companies. DKE also coordinated a 200-attendee International Development Days conference, held in Banff in 1999.
Innovation and Technology in Business and Industry: For the Science Council of BC and the Innovation Management Association of Canada, DKE planned and managed a major three-day
national conference on business and industrial innovation. Held in 1999, this event also included a series of site visits to company and lab facilities in the Lower Mainland. In 1997, DKE
coordinated a conference for the Canadian Technology Network. |
