Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) The Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation is awarded by the 81,000-member Convention Industry Council (CIC) to a select number of its
worldwide members. The recipients of the designation have been active in professional practice, have completed an intensive course of study, and have passed internationally administered standard
examinations that attest to their mastery of a wide variety of subject matter related to meeting management. The CMP program, established in 1985, is regarded as the foremost certification program
of the meetings, conventions and expositions industry. The CMP designation recognizes those who have achieved the industry's highest standards of professionalism. CMPs come from every sector of
the industry and all parts of the world. They advance the art and science of meeting management, and the industry's standards, practices and ethics. They represent the best that the meeting
management profession has to offer. Like many other professional certifications, the CMP must be renewed periodically, to insure that its holder is keeping up-to-date with new techniques and
practices. |
