Devon Knight Events has planned and coordinated a wide variety of special events including anniversary and opening celebrations, awards ceremonies, fundraisers and even an art show.
UniverCity Opening Celebration (Simon Fraser University)
DKE assisted the SFU Community Trust with a weekend launch party celebrating the opening of its new sustainable community, UniverCity, on the Burnaby Mountain campus. Focused on the public plaza and new commercial centre of the development, the festivities included a breakfast for all new residents and their families, store promotions, strolling street performers, sustainable living exhibits and a catered gala dinner in an unfinished space destined to be the neighbourhood pub.
Ethics in Action Awards
DKE coordinated the 8th annual ceremony for the pioneering “Ethics in Action Awards” which were launched by Vancity Credit Union and the Workplace Centre for Ethical and Spiritual Development at a time before Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) had become a popular trend. DKE promoted the awards and managed the nominations and selections process. The awards ceremony was held at Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom and attracted over 450 participants.
HIV/AIDS Art Show Opening and Benefit
For the Dr. Peter Centre, DKE organized an art exhibition at Vancouver’s Buschlen Mowatt Gallery, and the opening evening reception for the exhibition. DKE coordinated the call for art works, facilitated the jury/selection process, and arranged for insurance, transportation and installation of the art works.
